The social assistance and subsidies distribution in the form of goods and cash has various mechanisms, making it inefficient and complicated for recipients. In addition, the beneficiary data has not been fully integrated, thus reducing the accuracy of targeting and program effectiveness. In this case, the Ministry of Social Affairs has developed a Social Welfare Information System – Next Generation (SIKS-NG) which is expected to be a portal for integrating social welfare data, not only the Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI) data.
Improve the accuracy of targeting and effectiveness of social assistance as measured through 5T (Right Target, Right Amount, Right Time, Right Quality, and Right Administration) by updating DTKS data and integrating social welfare data in one portal.
The Public can check whether they are recipients of social assistance through the SIKS-NG website. Thus, this commitment will encourage the coverage of non-cash financial services and formal finance, especially for the poor and vulnerable. In addition, this program will encourage the implementation of digitalisation of social assistance and the success of the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) and support the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
This commitment will support the value of open government, namely transparency and participation. The existence of integrated data that becomes accountable data through open data collection and data processing mechanisms, involving public participation with the use of technology.
This commitment is related to the target of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 16: "Strengthening an Inclusive and Peaceful Society for Sustainable Development, Providing Access to Justice for All, and Building Effective, Accountable and Inclusive Institutions at All Levels", especially in Target 16.6: Developing effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels and Target 16.10 Ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, per national regulations and international agreements. This commitment also in line with the List of Strategic Priority Projects in the 2020-2024 RPJMN number 18 which is “the integration of Social Assistance into Comprehensive Social Protection Schemes"
