What are the public issues that are resolved in this commitment?

The General Elections Commission (KPU) already has a website-based information portal for almost every stage of the election. However, the current KPU portal is compiled from various information systems. The general election information system (Pemilu) is spread across different domains and is not centralised. The existence of a complete information portal will make it easier for Indonesian citizens (WNI) to find out all the integrated information.

What is the commitment?

This commitment encourages election administrators to provide election data in an open format that is accessible for all community groups through one integrated portal.

How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem?

Open data availability is useful for voters, candidates, organisers, and election supervisors not only to access detailed information but also to enable the public to follow and understand the election process and results. Open data also enables elections to be more inclusive, transparent and reliable.

Why is this commitment relevant to the Open Government values?

This commitment is in line with the Open Government values, namely transparency and participation. This program aims to increase transparency and accountability in the administration of elections. Open elections are expected to stimulate more meaningful public participation, such as being active in seeking candidates` information and helping to oversee the counting of votes. Along with that, it is hoped that public trust will also grow.

Commitment Alignment with the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and SDGs

This commitment is in line with the RPJMN Priority Program, namely Consolidating Democracy, SDGs Goal 16, which is to provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
