What are the public issues that are resolved in this commitment?

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has a significant role in assisting local governments in implementing the recovery of human rights violations victims. With the CSOs’ involvement in the ongoing discussion of the TRC Regulation , it is expected to leverage TRC`s position and accelerate the recovery of serious human rights violations victims.

What is the commitment?

There is a meaningful involvement of civil society in every stage of the TRC Regulation discussion.

How will the commitment contribute to solving the public problem?

Civil society`s involvement in the TRC Regulation discussion is expected to strengthen its position in providing recommendations and assisting the recovery implementation of serious human rights violations victims.

Why is this commitment relevant to the Open Government values?

This commitment supports Open Government values, namely participation. Community participation in the TRC Regulation discussion will increase the effectiveness of the next TRC performance.

Commitment Alignment with the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) and SDGs

This commitment supports the 16th SDGs Goal of Strengthening Inclusive and Peaceful Communities for Sustainable Development, Providing Access to Justice for All, and Building Effective, Accountable and Inclusive Institutions at All Levels and especially target 16.3 which is to encourage the rule of law at the national level and internationally and ensure equal access to justice for all. In addition, this commitment is in accordance with the 2020-2024 RPJMN, page 272, regarding increasing access to justice.
